Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Tax s Regulatory (Reference Data) to join our Chennai team. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in financial services, tax and regulatory data, reference data management, and business analysis. This role involves translating complex regulatory requirements into clear business specifications, defining data models and controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
•Analyze tax and regulatory requirements within the financial services domain and support data mapping into enterprise systems.
•Translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into detailed functional and non-functional specifications.
•Gather, document, validate, and prioritize business requirements and define clear acceptance criteria.
•Define and maintain business rules, validation logic, and data processing requirements.
•Develop and maintain data mappings, interface specifications, and reference data models.
•Support system enhancements, change requests, and data backfill activities.
•Improve data quality through validation checks, reconciliation processes, deduplication controls, and exception management.
•Perform impact analysis for regulatory and system changes.
•Participate in Functional Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
•Execute SQL-based data validation and maintain audit-ready documentation and evidence.
•Collaborate with Product Management, Architecture, Engineering, and Operations teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
•Contribute to Agile/SAFe ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder reviews.
•Monitor and improve key performance indicators related to data quality, timeliness, completeness, and accuracy.

Required Skills s Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Information Technology, Economics, or a related discipline.
•Minimum 6+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or within Financial Services, with strong exposure to Tax C Regulatory domains.
•Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax reporting requirements, and reference data concepts.
•Experience working with financial data models, regulatory data structures, and data governance principles.
•Proven expertise in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and specification documentation.
•Strong knowledge of data mapping, validation, reconciliation, exception management, and data quality controls.
•Proficiency in SQL for data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting.
•Experience working within Agile or SAFe delivery environments.
•Familiarity with GitLab, version control, and change management processes is preferred.
•Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
•Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
•Ability to work effectively within global and cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
•Experience in Regulatory Reporting, Tax Data Management, Financial Reference Data, or Market Data environments.
•Knowledge of international regulatory frameworks and financial industry standards.
•Exposure to data governance, data lineage, and metadata management practices.
•Experience working with AI-assisted business analysis, automation, or data quality initiatives.
•Understanding of financial instruments, securities reference data, and capital markets operations.
