Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Application Migration Engineer to lead and execute the
modernization of legacy applications built on PowerBuilder and Sybase. The role focuses on
migrating to a modern frontend architecture using React or Angular, supported by a new relational
database platform such as PostgreSQL or SQL Server, while ensuring continuity of existing systems
during transition.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform a full technical and functional audit of existing PowerBuilder / Sybase applications
* Identify technical dependencies, business-critical features, and migration risks
* Collaborate with architects and technical teams to define target architecture and design
* Define migration approach, tooling, roadmap, timelines, and resource requirements
* Support and guide the team through planned execution of the migration
* Ensure mandatory maintenance and stability of legacy applications during transition
Must-Have Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
* Proven experience in PowerBuilder development and modern frontend technologies
(React or Angular)
* Hands-on experience with application migration / modernization projects
* Strong SQL development experience
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Fluent English (spoken and written)

Nice-to-Have Skills
* French language skills

* Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines
* Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
